Generation Brussels revolves this year around the notion of « Care » as developed by Joan Tronto, following Carol Gilligan. It appeared to the curator that many emerging artists developed practices that take into account caring for others, interdependence, relationships, with the individual and/or his environment, but also the notion of vulnerability of life and matter. In a world caught up in visible and invisible flows, sometimes constraining, sometimes carrying lucky coincidences; the hand that gives, heals or repairs, the speech that soothes or the ear that listens, nature recomposed or mystified, as well as the receptacle space of minute signs of mutation, bring about surprising forms, informed witnesses and subjective of the upheavals that our daily lives are undergoing”.
